A new leak now tells us the exact release date for AMD's next-generation Threadripper CPUs.
Videocardz has heard from its source that AMD will launch its new Threadripper processors on March 8, 2022. That date seems a bit too specific, but we can still use it as a reference point of sorts. Furthermore, the new Threadripper models are a tad overdue, given that they were supposed to be unveiled in August 2021, at least according to one rumour. Nonetheless, we can expect AMD to talk about the high-end parts at CES 2022 and maybe even give us a release date.
An earlier rumour speculated that AMD was scrapping all non-Pro variants of the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series. That shouldn't be much of a problem, for the most part, as Threadtipper CPUs aren't aimed at the average user. However, availability could still be a problem thanks to cryptocurrencies such as Raptoreum, which benefit from CPUs' large L3 caches."
