Hi, I apologise for the post in english here, but all the english forums I found wanted me to register and I only wanted to reply to the problem with Direct X where a dialog box pops up with the message "Hardware changed. Restore default settings?". I have been having exactly the same problem, and have been searching for a solution myself. And I have found one.
Firstly, I am running Windows XP and have an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 video card.
So heres what i did... Went to Display Properties, then Settings, then go to Advanced tab. In the new window that came up for my particular display card I went to the tab named '3D'. On this window I clicked on the 'Compatibility' button, which brought up a new window named 'Direct3D Compatibility Settings'. Here there is a section called "Alternate pixel center". I changed the setting from disabled to 'Enabled'. And this one thing fixed the problem for me. Easy.
Thanks to the people who posted on this subject and helped me to narrow the problem to Direct3D.
Hope this post helps some.
