Gaming is already a heavy-duty task... if you define "everything" else as just browsing, office and programming - then a gaming machine will be just fine for those tasks. If "everything" also covers other heavy-duty tasks like 4K video or computing tasks then that impacts how the system should be configured "beyond" just gaming needs... hence my question, as you were being vague.
Other soft queries:
- Does he need wifi?
- Does he care about noise?
- Does he prefer a specific form factor?
- How much data (many large games?) does he need to store?
- What resolution will he be using... 1080p? 60hz or 120hz?
...all of this matters for us to give you proper advice... that's what makes us "awesome" here as you said yourself... we don't just stick you with some generic solution... but actually weigh all the criteria and suggest an optimal fit... but it requires that you give us complete information.
Anyways... here is a 7k build that should handle "everything" fairly okay:
https://www.komplett.dk[...] ...You might want to upgrade to a Z97 board and a 4690K ... that'll set you back another 500,- at Komplett though... if you go for cheaper sites on edbpriser.dk for the same parts you might be able to hit 7k with those upgrades too.

Du stiller spørgsmål jeg ikke kan svare på. normalt er der en del "derp byg selv pc" tråde og folk kan fint komme med råd.
